i like these paintings.
ali cavanaugh is really well-known by now.
and she's true inspiration as well, considering that she had lost her hearing at the tender age of two,
which she now considers a blessing in disguise, as it made her be more sensitive to the visual world.
what i also like is her technique. she works in a kind of a fresco technique,
with watercolor on a wet plaster surface. she has to use tiny strokes,
like the ones you can see on egg tempera paintings from gothic times.
i like the effect.
